Types of Defence Complaints in India
Common categories of defence-related grievances include the following.
1. Service-Related Complaints
(Armed Forces Personnel)
- Denial of pay, allowances, pensions or benefits.
- Discrimination in postings or promotions.

What is a Defence Complaint?
A Defence Complaint concerns a grievance relating to the Indian Armed Forces, defence administration, defence personnel, ex-servicemen welfare, defence procurement, Defence PSUs, human rights or related public-interest matters.
Who can submit a complaint?
Serving defence personnel, ex-servicemen, veterans’ families, defence civilian employees, citizens and NGOs may submit relevant grievances, subject to the applicable procedure and jurisdiction.
What documents should I attach?
Attach relevant orders, notices, correspondence, pension records, service documents, photographs, representations, replies and other evidence supporting the complaint.
Where should the completed form be sent?
Completed forms and supporting documents should be submitted by email to pg@helpful.foundation.
Is a fee applicable?
HF Membership Holders do not require a fee to register a complaint. For non-members, a fee may apply for legal action and complaint registration depending on the service requested.
Does Helpful Foundation replace a court or tribunal?
No. Helpful Foundation’s complaint advocacy process does not replace statutory judicial or administrative remedies. Depending on the facts, the appropriate authority, tribunal or court may need to be approached.
