1. Defective or Substandard Goods

  1. Receiving damaged, unsafe, or poor-quality products

  2. Goods not matching description or promised standards

  3. Expired or adulterated products


2. E-Commerce & Online Frauds

  1. Non-delivery or delayed delivery of goods/services

  2. Receiving wrong products in online shopping

  3. Fraudulent websites or payment scams

  4. Unauthorized online transactions


3. Misleading / False Advertising

  1. Products or services not matching claims in advertisements

  2. Hidden charges or misleading price offers

  3. Fake discounts or promotional offers


4. Deficiency in Services

  1. Poor quality of services in telecom, banking, transport, hospitality, etc.

  2. Delay or denial of promised services

  3. Overcharging for services

  4. Non-fulfillment of contractual obligations


5. Medical Negligence & Healthcare Complaints

  1. Wrong treatment, wrong medicine, or unsafe medical practices

  2. Overcharging or unnecessary procedures

  3. Defective medical products or equipment


6. Warranty & Guarantee Issues

  1. Company denying repair, replacement, or refund within warranty period

  2. Failure to honor service agreements or Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs)

👉NOTE:

  1. HF Membership Holders: No fee is required to register a complaint or seek assistance.

  2. Non-Members: A fee is applicable for legal action and registration of the complaint.

  3. Special Benefit for BPL Card Holders

    All services offered by Helpful Foundation are completely free of cost for individuals holding a valid BPL (Below Poverty Line) Card.


👉Note on Legal Fees

  1. The legal fee for processing and pursuing a complaint with Helpful Foundation depends on the nature and complexity of the case.

  2. HF membership holders are exempt from fees for complaint registration and initial assistance.

  3. Non-members are required to pay the applicable legal fee, which will be communicated based on the specifics of the case, before filing or taking legal action.

  4. The complainant will be informed of the exact fee amount prior to proceeding with any legal or administrative process.


The Consumer Protection Act guarantees the following six consumer rights:

Right to Safety :- The right to be protected against marketing goods and services that are hazardous to life and property.

Right to be informed :-The right to be informed about the quality, quantity, potency, purity, standard and price of goods or services, as the case may be, to protect the consumer against unfair trade practices.

Right to Choose :-The right to be assured, wherever possible, access to various goods and services at competitive prices.

Right to be heard :- The right to be heard and to be assured that consumers’ interests will receive due consideration at appropriate times.

Right to Redressal :- The right to seek redress against unfair trade practices, restrictive trade practices, or unscrupulous exploitation of consumers.
